Dear Mr. Feaster:
National Broadcasting Company, Inc. (NBC) hereby
supports the~equestfor an extension of time in filing
comments in response to the Tentative Decision and Further
Notice of Inguir

released September 2, 1988 in Gen.
Docket No. 81-26, the proceeding looking towards the
introduction in the United States of advanced television
systems, filed by The Association of Maximum Service
Telecasters (MST) and the National Association of
Broadcasters (NAB) on September 30, 1988.
As MST and NAB point out in their request, the
Tentative Decision and Further Notice of Inquiry raises
numerous complex issues that will require considerable
time and effort in analysis. Moreover, many of the NBC
technical personnel that have been assigned to provide
their expertise have been out of the country engaged in
NBC's Olympic telecast for the past several weeks. While
NBC is in accord with the Commission's desire not to delay
this proceeding unnecessarily, we believe that not just
