Roberts Carter on behalfof Microsoft met with Commissioner Copps and his Legal Advisor John Giusti, Commissioner Baker and her Legal Advisor Charles Mathias, Bruce Gottlieb ofChairman Genachowski's office, and Ruth Milkman, James Schlichting, and Paul Murray ofthe Wireless Bureau. During these meetings, Microsoft thanked the Commission for its hard work in producing the National Broadband Plan. In particular, Microsoft expressed its support for the Plan's conclusion that action is needed in the near term to meet the growing demand for both licensed and unlicensed broadband spectrum. I Microsoft also stressed the importance ofresolving pending issues in the white spaces proceedin y quickly to allow companies to move forward to enable access to this underutilized spectrum.
