I am a blind individual and these are just a few of my thoughts on this matter.
Telecommunication companies should only be allowed to be excluded from providing accessible
services if there is another telecommunications company in the area that providers the same service
in an accessible format.
If a company can only provide access to part or its services, then the blind or visually impaired person
should get a reduced rate / price as they are not able to utilize all of the service(s).
Digital television receivers should come with text to speech technology for navigation of the complex
menu layout. Channel and show descriptions should also be read and programmers should have to
indicate which should come with an audio description.
