I just left AT&T for T-Mobile four months ago due to a lack of handset options, limited data
functionality on my iPhone, and prices that were too high. This is the second time I have left AT&T for
these reasons, and once again they are attempting to buy the competitor I left for. Past actions show
that, given the opportunity, AT&T will limit features like tethering, cap data bandwidth, and offer few
handset choices to the consumer. They will also phase out old plans as soon as they can do so
legally. We need more wireless carriers in this country, not less. If T-Mobile is allowed to be
purchased by AT&T, Sprint will be the next to go. Then, we will have two companies with little
incentive to offer anything that is good for the consumer, only what's good for their shareholders.
